Cosmetic Dentist in American Canyon, CA
Brighter, more even smiles for busy families right on Main Street.
Between school drop-offs, commutes on Highway 29, and weekend games, few American Canyon adults find time to think about their own smile. Yet a stained tooth or a small chip you notice in every photo can wear on your confidence over time.
Our American Canyon team at Encore Dentist makes cosmetic care practical for people with full schedules. As your dentist in American Canyon, we offer whitening, veneers, and complete smile makeovers in the same office where your family already gets checkups, with weekday hours starting at 7:30 am.
Cosmetic Treatments Available in American Canyon
Cosmetic dentistry focuses on the color, shape, and alignment of your teeth. At our Main Street office, three treatments cover most goals, and each can be done on its own or combined with the others in a larger plan.
- Teeth whitening: teeth whitening in American Canyon brightens enamel with dentist-supervised gels that work deeper than store kits.
- Porcelain veneers: veneers in American Canyon cover chips, gaps, and deep stains with thin custom shells.
- Smile makeovers: an American Canyon smile makeover combines treatments for broader changes in one plan.
If your teeth are also crooked, clear aligners from our office may be part of the plan before any cosmetic work begins. Straighter teeth often need less reshaping, which can make later treatment more conservative.
Dr. Kevin Cabugao
Because of my commitment to excellence some have labeled me as somewhat of a perfectionist… Although true to a certain extent, I disagree. Without the fear of being wrong, I sincerely care about everything I do and try my best to do it well.”
Born in Hawaii and raised in Vallejo, Kevin Cabugao received his BS in Genetics at the University of California at Davis and worked in biotechnology before refocusing his energies towards graduate school. While Kevin found his work in the pharmaceutical industry rewarding, he felt unsatisfied with his career and sought an education that would best complement his enthusiasm for helping others with his understanding of the sciences. With this intention, he received his MBA from California State University East Bay and DDS from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. Currently, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association as a part of the Board of Component Relations and has served as the former President of the Napa/Solano Dental Society.
When away from the office, Kevin enjoys listening to music, snowboarding and honing his martial arts as a 4th degree Kajukenbo black belt with over 30 years of experience!

Dr. Paul Belusko
Born and raised in Oregon, Dr. Paul Belusko earned his degree in Biochemistry from Portland State where it was while working in Biotechnology that he realized his calling to serve others was best expressed as a compassionate care provider within dentistry. Soon after, Dr. Belusko attended dental school at Columbia University and graduated with high honors.
During this time, he had the privilege of volunteering as a student dentist serving throughout the rural parts of Jamaica and joined a hospital residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine that partnered with the nearby Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in the Bronx. As a resident he worked on complex dental cases and added advanced dental implant techniques to his clinical practice. With a surgical skill set greater than most general dentists, Dr. Paul has also earned his fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
After residency, Dr. Belusko returned to the West Coast to serve our veterans at the Washington State VA for several years. Soon after, he travelled south with his wife back to her home state of California, settling down in Napa to be closer to her family and to enjoy the natural beauty of our region as an avid skier, hiker and cyclist. With his wife, keeping his family and community first, Dr. Paul has two children and enjoys mentoring to the local youth as a Napa County 4-H leader in archery and at 4-H camp.
Cosmetic Care That Fits a Family Schedule
Many of our cosmetic patients are parents who finally have a moment for themselves. We plan visits around your calendar and explain how many appointments each option needs, so you are not surprised by extra trips. Most whitening visits fit into a single morning, while veneers usually take a few appointments spread over several weeks.
Because we also see children and grandparents, you may be able to pair your cosmetic visit with a family member’s cleaning. That convenience is a big reason families choose one dental home for every generation, and it means one team already knows your health history.
How Smile Confidence Connects to Well-Being
Feeling good about your teeth can lift more than your photos. A 2025 study of 775 young adults published in Frontiers in Oral Health linked dental self-confidence with higher self-esteem and greater overall well-being. The participants were young adults, but the same question of confidence applies whether you are 25 or 65.
For many adults, a modest change makes the biggest difference. A whitening treatment before a graduation or veneers before a milestone birthday may help you smile more freely, and our goal is to make each change look natural. Small, well-planned changes tend to look the most like you.
What Happens During Your Cosmetic Visit
Your consultation begins with a conversation about what you would like to change. We then examine your teeth and gums, take digital images, and check for any decay that should be treated first. If you have older fillings or crowns, we note how they may affect color matching.
Next, we explain each option side by side, including timing and a clear written estimate. Our dentists, including Dr. Kevin Duquette, who practiced for 17 years at Marina Vista Dental in nearby Vallejo, take time to answer every question before you decide.
Paying for Cosmetic Dentistry in American Canyon
Insurance rarely pays for treatment done only to improve appearance, though work that also repairs damage may qualify in part. We review your benefits, point out which parts of a plan are cosmetic and which are restorative, and send PPO claims for anything eligible.
Our out-of-network approach lets us recommend what fits your smile rather than what a plan prefers. For larger plans, dental financing options can spread the cost into manageable payments.

Cosmetic Dentistry Questions
Which cosmetic treatment should I start with?
Many patients start with whitening because it is simple and affordable. If chips, gaps, or uneven shapes remain, veneers or a broader smile makeover may be the next step.
Is professional whitening safe for my enamel?
Yes, as long as a dentist oversees it. We examine your teeth first and fine-tune the gel strength and timing to limit sensitivity. Whitening is also safest once any cavities or gum problems are treated.
How many visits do veneers take?
Most veneer cases take two to three visits over a few weeks, including a consultation, preparation, and final placement.
Do you offer early cosmetic appointments?
Yes. Our American Canyon office opens at 7:30 am Monday through Friday, which helps many patients fit care in before work. We stay open until 5:30 pm on weekdays as well.
Can I use my PPO benefits at your office?
In most cases, yes. We are out of network, and we help you file claims so you receive any reimbursement your plan allows.
