Invisalign in Napa, CA

Clear aligners that straighten without metal braces.

Crooked or crowded teeth can make you hold back a smile in photos, and they can be harder to keep clean. Many Napa adults and teens want straighter teeth but do not want brackets and wires for a year or more.

Encore Dentist offers Invisalign clear aligners at our Napa office on Beard Road. Because our team also handles crowns, implants, and full mouth restoration, we look at how your bite works as a whole before we plan any tooth movement.

What Invisalign Can Fix

Invisalign uses a series of thin, removable plastic trays. Each set is shaped to move your teeth a small amount, and you switch to the next set on a schedule your dentist sets. Common reasons patients choose aligners include:

  • Crowding: teeth that overlap or twist because there is not enough room.
  • Spacing: gaps between teeth that catch food or bother you when you smile.
  • Bite problems: many overbites, underbites, and crossbites in mild to moderate cases.
  • Relapse: teeth that shifted after braces when a retainer was not worn.

Some complex bite problems still need traditional braces or a specialist. Your dentist will tell you honestly whether aligners are a good fit for your case.

Dr. Kevin Cabugao

DDS, MBA

Because of my commitment to excellence some have labeled me as somewhat of a perfectionist… Although true to a certain extent, I disagree. Without the fear of being wrong, I sincerely care about everything I do and try my best to do it well.”
Born in Hawaii and raised in Vallejo, Kevin Cabugao received his BS in Genetics at the University of California at Davis and worked in biotechnology before refocusing his energies towards graduate school. While Kevin found his work in the pharmaceutical industry rewarding, he felt unsatisfied with his career and sought an education that would best complement his enthusiasm for helping others with his understanding of the sciences. With this intention, he received his MBA from California State University East Bay and DDS from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. Currently, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association as a part of the Board of Component Relations and has served as the former President of the Napa/Solano Dental Society.
When away from the office, Kevin enjoys listening to music, snowboarding and honing his martial arts as a 4th degree Kajukenbo black belt with over 30 years of experience!

Dr. Paul Belusko, DDS — dentist at Encore Dentist in Napa, American Canyon, and Castro Valley, CA

Dr. Paul Belusko

DDS

Born and raised in Oregon, Dr. Paul Belusko earned his degree in Biochemistry from Portland State where it was while working in Biotechnology that he realized his calling to serve others was best expressed as a compassionate care provider within dentistry. Soon after, Dr. Belusko attended dental school at Columbia University and graduated with high honors.

During this time, he had the privilege of volunteering as a student dentist serving throughout the rural parts of Jamaica and joined a hospital residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine that partnered with the nearby Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in the Bronx. As a resident he worked on complex dental cases and added advanced dental implant techniques to his clinical practice. With a surgical skill set greater than most general dentists, Dr. Paul has also earned his fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

After residency, Dr. Belusko returned to the West Coast to serve our veterans at the Washington State VA for several years. Soon after, he travelled south with his wife back to her home state of California, settling down in Napa to be closer to her family and to enjoy the natural beauty of our region as an avid skier, hiker and cyclist. With his wife, keeping his family and community first, Dr. Paul has two children and enjoys mentoring to the local youth as a Napa County 4-H leader in archery and at 4-H camp.

Living With Clear Aligners

Aligners work only while you wear them, so most patients keep them in for about 20 to 22 hours a day. You take them out to eat and drink anything other than water, then brush before putting them back in. That routine keeps food from being trapped against your teeth.

Because the trays come out, you can keep eating the foods you enjoy, and brushing and flossing stay simple. Most people adjust to the slight pressure of a new set within a day or two.

The Invisalign Process at Our Napa Office

Your first visit includes an exam, digital images, and a talk about what you want to change. We check for decay and gum disease first, since teeth should be healthy before they are moved. If you are a good candidate, we plan the series of movements and show you how your teeth are expected to shift.

Once your aligners arrive, we check the fit and explain how to wear and clean them. You return for short progress visits so we can confirm your teeth are tracking as planned. Treatment time depends on your case, and many adult cases finish in about a year. After treatment, a retainer holds your new smile in place.

Invisalign Compared With Other Options

Traditional braces are fixed to the teeth and can handle a wider range of complex movements, but they are more visible and need extra care when eating. Aligners are nearly invisible and removable, which suits many adults and responsible teens.

If your main concern is a small chip or a narrow gap between two front teeth, dental bonding in Napa or porcelain veneers may change the look faster. Some patients combine aligners with whitening or bonding as part of a smile makeover.

Cost of Invisalign and Payment Options

The cost of Invisalign depends on how much movement your teeth need, how many aligner sets are involved, and whether other care comes first. Some PPO plans include an orthodontic benefit, often with a lifetime maximum, and our team can help you file claims for any portion your plan covers.

You receive a written estimate before treatment begins. Dental financing can spread the cost into monthly payments that fit your budget.
